Why Give?

Each year Lick-Wilmerding High School asks parents, faculty, staff, trustees, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends to support the current operating budget with a contribution to The Fund for LWHS. As a community, we collectively provide LWHS with the resources necessary to pursue the school mission and create opportunities for all LWHS students to engage in a unique and well-rounded education. We see the true value of The Fund for LWHS donations on the faces of our students as they explore calculus, American history, Shakespeare, architecture and metal fabrications, and find their independence and creativity through athletics, musical theater, and civic engagement.

We hope you will give to The Fund for LWHS today!

To make your contribution by mail, make the check payable to LWHS and send it to LWHS Alumni and Development Office, 755 Ocean Avenue, SF, CA 94112. To designate a specific area of the operating budget—Academic program, Facilities, Faculty, or Flexible Tuition—please place your choice in the memo section of your check. Otherwise, your contribution will be directed to where the school feels the need is greatest.

The Fund for LWHS meets the needs of the school beyond tuition and endowment revenue. Your gifts provide LWHS with the resources necessary to pursue its mission and create opportunities for all our students to engage in a unique and well-rounded education. We see the true value of The Fund for LWHS donations on the faces of our students as they explore calculus, American history, Shakespeare, architecture and metal fabrications, and find their independence and creativity through athletics, musical theatre, and civic engagement.
  • Q: What if I can't make a donation to The Fund for LWHS by December 31, 2016?

All we ask is that you make a commitment of a gift amount (pledge) before December 31, 2016. You will then have until May 2017 to finish paying your pledge.
  • Q: When does The Fund for LWHS take place?

For parents, the timeline for The Fund is launched in mid-September, with donations and pledges being secured by December 31. Again, you may pledge in the fall and pay your pledge when convenient, by the end of May 2017.

For alumni, PALS, grandparents and friends, we typically launch The Fund later in the fall and follow up with you throughout the remainder of the fiscal year, until June.
  • Q: What is The Fund for LWHS goal?

This year, the financial goal for The Fund is $1.2 million. Last year, we were delighted to reach $1.12 million for the first time, and we know with your help we will reach our goal this year!
