Living History

The Archives, a.k.a. living history, is the central resource for locating historical information about the Lick-Wilmerding and Lux Schools. While preserving and illuminating the founding, growth, and development of LWHS, the archives chronicle more than one hundred years of the school's history through documents, photographs, publications, sound recordings, and videos.

Yearbooks and Publications

The early yearbooks were a mashup of magazine and yearbook, and as you can see, the name of this major student publication changed several times. The school collection features:
      • The Tiger (1906-1915), a quarterly publication by the students of the California School of Mechanical Arts
      • Wilmerding Life (1906-1912), a quarterly publication by the students of the Wilmerding School of Industrial Arts
      • L.W.L. Life (1915-1943), a quarterly publication by the students of the Lick-Wilmerding and Lux Schools
      • The Tiger Yearbook (1951-Present) an annual publication by LWHS students
