Mission Statement

The purpose of the Lick-Wilmerding High School Parents Association (PA) is to help build and sustain community among the parents, students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni of the school.

The Parents Association assists parents in developing an effective partnership with the school to achieve the best possible educational experience for the students.

The Parents Association recognizes that the entire LWHS community, with its economic, cultural and ethnic diversity, is enriched by the variety of talents, resources, and backgrounds that each parent brings to the school.

Welcome LWHS Parents/Guardians!

All parents and guardians of LWHS students (Tigers) automatically become members of the PA. We strive to make the words “Inclusive Community” a reality with many opportunities to connect with each other and support our students and school. We value diversity in as many possible ways as we can identify. We invite and encourage you to enrich and to add to our Tigers’ lives by becoming involved. There are many different ways to be involved, both in helping with events, as well as attending activities and meetings. Each and every role that you play will make a difference.

Here’s how you can stay informed and get involved:
  1. Read the eTiger! The eTiger is published and emailed every Sunday at 5pm during the school year. The eTiger is the best way to find out about upcoming PA events and volunteer opportunities. Here is a link to the eTiger archive if you'd like to see past issues.
  2. Sign up for our Google group and follow us on social media! Click here to sign up for the Google group. The Google group allows any parent to post announcements and share ideas. We also have a Facebook page and an Instagram page where we post announcements.
  3. Volunteer! Click here to sign up for volunteer opportunities or click on the green "Parenting Adult Volunteer Opportunities" button.
  4. Enjoy PA Social Events! The PA organizes class-specific events as well as affinity group events, adult social hours, and parent education events. We also host several clubs, including a Book Club, a Knitting Club, and a series of Tiger Talks (virtual and in-person social learning events hosted by parents in our community). Click on the “CALENDAR OF EVENTS” button for the most up-to-date list for the year.
  5. Attend PA General Meetings. The PA works with school administrators to host informative meetings that help parents understand the student experience and how the school works.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or ideas!
