An Interim Year and small, conscious and unconscious; paradoxically, they can be both unnerving and critically important. It is a time when uncertainty generates possibility, challenging the norms and habits that may not always be healthy or good. The pandemic thrust us into a massive space of uncertainty from which we are only now emerging, the effects of which may linger for some time to come. Layer on massive economic, social, and political disruptions and you come to realize the significant importance of this moment in history for our school, our communities, and the world.
Alumni News
Since 1998, Lisa Gautier's organization, Matter of Trust, has lived their public purpose by creating hair mats from donated hair from around the globe. The organization has worked to export hair matting machines around the world to increase their impact. While their hair mats have been used to clean up oil spills and even as filtration for spacecraft, they have done so much more! Check out the website to learn more about all they've done and their achievements.

Minimal Decencies
Created by longtime English faculty member, Eleanor Burke, who taught at LWHS from 1978-1995, this guide has served as an important writing tool for many LWHS students and alumni. For those who did not have the pleasure of having Ms. Burke as an English teacher, we hope this is one small way to commemorate her legacy among the LWHS community.
