Philosophy

Our mission is to bring together students from a variety of backgrounds into a community of growing readers, thinkers, communicators, and listeners.

We believe personal transformation occurs when students learn to use literature as both mirror and window, so we center historically marginalized authors and texts representing wide-ranging origins and experiences.

Our antiracist pedagogies emphasize skill building over knowledge acquisition and iteration over perfectionism. We aim to cultivate lifelong learners who value empathy, curiosity, complexity, and justice.
