New HHH Fund Empowers LWHS Student Leaders

Lick-Wilmerding High School is thrilled to announce the launch of the HHH Fund, made possible through the generous support of a committed donor who believes in the power of student-led change.

The HHH Fund represents more than just financial support—it's an investment in the next generation of civic leaders. This new initiative will provide grants of up to $1,500 to LWHS students who are inspired to design and lead projects that benefit their school or broader community.

"What's great about this fund is that students can actually have a platform to start building something," says Frank O. '28, StuCo Treasurer and Finance Committee member. “It's about how you can use your creativity and skills, with this grant, to create something that can impact people in your community."

While the HHH Fund is newly formalized, it builds upon years of LWHS supporting student-led initiatives. From helping Kyra G. '25 publish and donate her book, Mandy's Hugs, to local schools and libraries, to funding SFILY (San Francisco Ignite Leadership in Youth), LWHS students have a long history of making a real impact. We're excited to see even more projects like these come to life—things like community tutoring programs, environmental initiatives, and social justice campaigns. The possibilities are as diverse as our students' passions.

The fund embodies LWHS's core mission of developing lifelong learners who contribute to the world with confidence and compassion. Through hands-on experience in project management, budgeting, and community engagement, students will gain invaluable skills while making a tangible difference.

Seven students or student teams submitted applications for the HHH Fund’s inaugural fall round, and the Stuco Finance Committee will announce funding decisions soon. The Committee, in collaboration with the Center for Civic Engagement, accepts and reviews applications twice yearly, with the next cycle opening in spring 2026.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the donor whose generosity has made the HHH Fund possible. This gift will ripple outward through countless student projects, touching lives throughout our community for years to come.
