| The Visual and Performing Arts Department consists of five program areas: Architectural Design, Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Art. The nexus of these fields embodies the school’s goal of education for the head, heart and hands. While the programs are distinct, the department shares a common mission to advance craftsmanship and creative expression. All department faculty members, in addition to being dedicated teachers, are professional artists in their chosen fields, offering their expertise and guidance to all students, as well as to one another. Through involvement in the visual and performing arts, students develop methods for creative problem solving, and explore the connections between disciplines. They also gain self-confidence through engaging in the creative process, fostering respect for themselves and each other. |
