Workshop Series for Seniors

Each fall, the College Counseling Department presents timely, hands-on workshops in a small class format that allows individual attention and gives students opportunities to ask questions. Please note that these fall workshops will be scheduled for seniors; they are not optional. Workshop topics include:

Creating Your Applications

Creating college applications takes time and it involves planning ahead and keeping track of what needs to be done by when.

A resource students will need to be sure to use is Naviance: Family Connection, a website that shares Lick’s historical college admissions data. If students or their parents/guardians don’t already have a password, please see a college counselor.

Through one-on-one meetings with a college counselor, as well as during the College Counseling Workshops for Seniors, topics students will want to cover include:
  • Obtaining letters of recommendation
  • Visiting colleges
  • Writing college essays
  • Composing a resume
  • Preparing for an audition
  • Interviewing
  • Creating a portfolio
